Larry Danduran Jr, is one of three children, born 1962 in Washington, D.C. to Larry Danduran Sr and Jane Danduran. He spent his early years living in Minot, Grand Forks and Jamestown. In 1980, he graduated from Westland High School, in Columbus, OH, and later studied electronic engineering at DeVry Institute. After working a variety of sales based jobs – from selling office supplies to oil and gas well leases – Larry settled into the insurance business in Columbus, OH and was married in 1986. He raised 5 children, who are aged 33 to 40, and he currently has 12 grandchildren.
After the insurance agency was sold in 1992, Larry’s family moved to New Rockford, ND to work at his father-in-law’s Chevrolet dealership BR Chevrolet and Olds. He and his wife purchased the franchise in 1997 and the dealership was renamed New Rockford Chevrolet & Olds. The business had many successful years and was known for its large volume of Corvette sales. Economic pressures along with personal issues lead to closing the dealership and a divorce in 2009.
After some soul searching, Larry spent some time in Phoenix, AZ working on cellular communication towers. Eventually, he returned home to New Rockford, and started doing light construction and home remodeling. Larry happily remarried in 2015 to a wonderful woman, Glenda Collier. In 2019, he was approached by Bessette Motors to help in a management capacity to turn the Carrington store around from its financial challenges. At first reluctant, Larry agreed, and has worked hard to build a wonderful team with a healthy positive culture. The store has become profitable.
A resident of Eddy County, Larry has been a member of the Lion’s Club and Knights of Columbus. He served as a council member of St John’s parish, New Rockford Park Board, Airport Authority, Community Betterment Board, and now serves as 2nd Vice Chair of District 14 Republican Party. In 1998, he was elected to serve on the New Rockford City Commission. He’s also served as an Election Judge in the last two election cycles in Eddy County.
